In collaboration with his father Architect Stanley Peter Merer, Mark converted Provender Mill,  Bruton, from a disused grain store to a single residential accommodation and 6 artists studios.
Peter Merer archived planning permission and worked with Mark on the conversion of the building.

Originally a grain store for Sheldon Jones animal feed the building had been empty for over 10 years. Clad in concrete asbestos, but with a steel frame and built to hold 100 tonnes of grain on the top floor.
This three-story building was converted to an open plan living space with lovely views over Bruton and a community of artists studios.

citation: The Mill was an established part of the commercial history of Bruton. An uncompromising restoration and conversion has given it a new lease of life. The conversion of a 1940s steel frame grain store.
